Cyprus tops EU Blue Flag beaches ranking

Cyprus has been awarded a total of 57 Blue Flags for beaches which, according to the Agriculture and Environment Ministry, ranks the island on the top of the EU for ten consecutive years. The Blue Flag certification is given to beaches which meet the standards of the Foundation for Environmental Education for water quality, safety, services and environmental management. The ministry has also pointed out that Cyprus is the first EU country to comply 100% with the criteria for water quality. Read more: cyprus-mail.com
