A controversial exhibition at Barcelona’s Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA) has finally opened after being cancelled by the museum’s director because it featured a sculpture depicting the former king of Spain in an act of sodomy. Director Bartomeu Marí was forced to backtrack on his decision after he came under fire from cultural associations, artists, the public and museum workers. He then resigned, but fired the two curators of the disputed exhibition, who had refused to remove the offending sculpture, as a parting shot. Read more: elpais.com
