A new Six Flags theme park that will boast record-breaking rides is now under construction in Dubai  – but it’s just one of the many new parks set to open soon in the UAE.

Six Flags Dubai will have 27 rides and attractions throughout the intricately themed park that will appeal to thrill-seekers of all ages, including world-record breaking roller coasters, water slides, shows and a variety of food offerings.

The new Six Flags will be a part of Dubai Parks, which will already see three different theme parks in one destination, including motiongate Dubai, a movie-inspired theme park with characters from DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate; Bollywood Parks Dubai, the first theme park based on the sights and sounds of Bollywood; and Legoland Dubai, which will also include a waterpark.

The Six Flags Dubai is set to open in 2019 and will feature record-breaking roller coasters and 27 rides and attractions “including best-in-class roller coasters, soaring tower rides, thrilling water slides, out-of-this-world virtual reality experiences, and a next generation 4-D interactive dark ride. When the sun sets, the park will come alive with spectacular lights dancing in the night-time sky”.

But the new attractions don’t stop there. The city will soon get a major entertainment park centred around characters from Marvel and the Cartoon Network. The IMG Worlds of Adventure is set to open this summer and feature rides and attractions themed around characters like the Hulk, Iron Mar, Thor and the Avengers, The Powerpuff Girls and characters from Adventure Time.

And Dubai is not the only city in the United Arab Emirates that is bringing in new entertainment. It was announced earlier this year that Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island is set to get a Warner Bros.-themed destination that will bring together the worlds of DC Comics Super Heroes Superman, Batman, and Warner Bros. cartoons like Bugs Bunny, Scooby-Doo and Tom and Jerry. Yas Island is already home to the Yas Marina Circuit, which hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and the futuristic waterpark Yas Waterworld.
