Cypriot artist Maria Aristidou has become famous after the popular actor Hugh Laurie posted her portrait of him, done in coffee, on social media and it went viral on the internet. Ms Aristidou works not only with watercolour and oil paints but also with coffee, though her new technique started by accident, after she spilled coffee on a project she had been working on. She said she used different types of coffee for her paintings, such as Americano, espresso and Cypriot (Turkish) coffee. The now famous artist will host an exhibition on 28 March in Limassol.
