French winemakers are up in arms after a Chilean wine was picked over a French product to promote 2016’s Tour de France.
Bicicleta from Chile’s Cono Sur will be served at promotional events outside France, in Andorra, Spain and Switzerland. The Young Farmers group threatened to disrupt the stage of the cycle race between Carcassonne and Montpellier in protest at the decision, but have since been appeased with an agreement that they will be allowed to showcase their own produce during the race.
