Chicago welcomed a record number of visitors in 2014, crossing the 50 million mark for the first time. The increase represents a three and a half percent rise on the previous year and puts the city on track to hit an estimated 55 million visitors by 2020. The news came as the city’s tourism officials announced a new marketing campaign called ‘Chicago Epic’, which hopes to draw people from further afield to the Windy City. Read more: chicagotribune
