A chef has tried to sneak 40 kilos of prized Japanese beef into Taiwan in his luggage. The chef, who runs a restaurant in Taichung, had travelled to Japan and bought the black wagyu beef on the island of Kyushu. The beef was discovered by customs officials at Taipei airport, wrapped in seven packages and stowed in two suitcases. Officials seized the beef and marked it for destruction, as the chef had not obtained an export certificate or followed customs procedures. Read more: chinapost.com.tw
