A $900-million business project near Cancún has been put on hold after 113 local children took the developers to court.
The Malecón Tajamar was proposed back in 2005 and would create offices and commercial space as well as homes and a church. But swathes of mangrove forests would be destroyed and the children’s lawyer argued that this destruction would ‘violate their right to a healthy environment’.
