A plane bound for Mallorca has accidentally been caught up in a hijack scare after the pilot set off a false alarm by using the wrong communications system to speak to air traffic control in flight. Upon landing at Palma airport, the Jet2 passengers found themselves surrounded by police until the pilot could convince the authorities that no hijacking had taken place. He used the comms system intended for emergency use in hijacking situations because he was having trouble with the usual channels. Read more: travelmole.com
