British Airways has announced its plans to revive flights to the Iranian capital Tehran as of 14 July this year.

Initially, the route will offer a six flights per week and will upgrade to a daily service from winter 2016. The new flights will fly from Heathrow Terminal 5. British Airways’ head of network planning, Neil Cottrell, said, ‘The recent lifting of sanctions opens up exciting new prospects for Iran as a tourist destination and with its rich heritage, unique architecture and world-class food it’s not surprising that Tehran is tipped to be a popular destination for 2016’.
