The two lion-tailed macaques gave their zoo keepers the slip by escaping from their compound in Northern Ireland yesterday morning. Newstalk Radio reported that they were spotted later in the day on the Antrim Road near the zoo by a man who was out walking his dog.

Zoo keepers have been dispatched in an attempt to round them up but so far it has not been confirmed if they have been successful. While these monkeys are not dangerous, the zoo has warned people not to try to capture them in case of injury.
