Dan Berlin, a blind marathon runner from Colorado, became the first visually impaired athlete to complete Peru’s 26-mile Inca Trail and reach Machu Picchu in one day.
Berlin, along with a group of guides, make up a group called Team See Possibilities, whose mission is to inspire and encourage people to overcome their perceived limitations by completing endurance feats in iconic locations around the globe while raising money for organizations to help the blind. The Inca trail, which starts at 9000 feet and crosses three mountain passes up to 14,000 feet, typically takes the average trekker four days to complete. Read more: runnersworld.com
