A video shot during a trip through the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone National Park shows a bison taking a running charge at the videographer’s car. The bison head butts the front bumper and then walks off camera. The estimated damage to the car exceeds $2000.
Male bison can weigh over 2000 pounds and are some of the most dangerous animals in Yellowstone. Though their size makes the animals appear slow, bison can easily outrun humans (bison have been observed running over 40mph) and will attack if provoked. No one was injured in the Yellowstone case.
