Locals in the city of Barranquilla, Colombia kicked off their first pre-carnival event on Saturday. The annual carnival is the second-largest in the world after Rio de Janeiro’s and for a month leading up to the event, residents enjoy a full schedule of parades and concerts. The city will dedicate Friday evening to the beauty queens and orchestras participating in the carnival, which will take place from 14-17 February. Read more: colombiareports.co
