Barcelona to begin car-free Sundays trial

Sections of Barcelona’s La Diagonal and Passeig de Gràcia thoroughfares are to go car-free on Sundays and public holidays from March. The roads will be closed between 9am and 5pm during the trial, which if successful will be rolled out to other parts of the city. The closed roads will be filled with al fresco seating as part of a plan to make the city more pedestrian friendly. Read more: thelocal.es
