Archaeologists discover Genghis Khan’s lost fortress in Mongolia

A team of archaeologists in western Mongolia has uncovered the remains of a 13th century fortress believed to have been built for ancient Mongol conqueror Genghis Khan. Carbon dating revealed that bones and shards found at the site dated it to around 1212. Researchers believe that the fortress was built for Khan by a close associate and the findings could provide valuable information about his empire-building strategy and western expansion.
