Ancient Egyptian hangover cure discovered

A newly translated papyrus has shown that the Ancient Egyptians would wear a necklace made of Alexandrian laurel shrub leaves to ease the pain after a heavy drinking session. The ‘drunken headache cure’ was found on a 1,900 year old papyrus, written in Greek. It is one of half a million scraps, called the Oxyrhynchus Papyri, that were found in 1898 in Oxyrhynchus, about 100 miles south of Cairo. Read more: news.discovery.com
