Airlines reduce Russian flights due to falling demand

Several international airlines have recently reduced the number of flights to Russia, due to falling demand. Foreign travellers are staying away because of political instability in the country, while Russian citizens are increasingly spending their holidays at home instead of going abroad because of the devaluation of the rouble. EasyJet reduced the number of its London-Moscow flights in January and will cut its services to Russia by half this summer. The Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific, and Gulf-based Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways have also reduced their services to Russia, while German Berlin Air and Finnish Finnair cancelled flights to several Russian cities. On the other hand, Russian airlines cancelled their services to 72 destinations. Read more: money.cnn.com
