A popular church has been attacked by vandals in the city of Agra, the home of the Taj Mahal. The incident follows a string of similar attacks in New Delhi. The identity of the attackers remains unknown, but both Hindu and Muslim groups have been implicated in violence against Christians around India in recent months. The incident, in one of the most popular tourist destinations in India, has been interpreted as a sign of growing divisions between religious groups in one of the world’s most diverse societies.
