Admire the beauty of the Iguazú Falls from this stunning new hotel

A stunning new, environmentally conscious hotel has opened in the Argentinian jungle. The hotel is located just 20 minutes from the legendary Iguazú Falls, allowing travellers to fully immerse themselves in one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural experiences.

Lying in a large expanse of national park, the falls are easily reached from either side of the Argentine-Brazilian border, as well as from nearby Paraguay, and are a popular destination for travellers. Building on two pioneering properties in Atacama and Patagonia in Chile, the new resort was created by the Awasi group. Built on stilts to reduce the impact on the natural environment, the 14-room lodge is situated on the banks of the River Iguazú, surrounded by the Atlantic Rainforest. Each of the properties is positioned in an effort to offer maximum privacy while also being close to the main lodge.

Opened on 5 February, the lodge has already attracted positive attention all around the world, having been included in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2018 campaign. Each villa in the property is assigned with a private guide and a four-wheel drive vehicle, allowing guests to explore the area at their own pace. After spending the day amongst the natural scenery in and around the falls, guests can return to Awasi for a swim in their own private plunge pool, have a drink at the main lodge’s bar or have an evening meal in the restaurant on site, which serves local, seasonal produce from the jungle.

The lodge offers packages starting at US$1,520 (29,890 Argentine Pesos) for 2 nights, up to 6 nights, all-inclusive deals for $8,370 (164,582 Argentine Pesos). Excursions available at the lodge include boat trips to see 18^th century Jesuit ruins, visits to local unknown waterfalls (as well as the famous ones) and visits to local Guarani tribes to learn about their ancient artisan craft and unique relationship with the rainforest.
